About fuckin time we got back to the simple complexity of Competitive Hip Hop. Back in its purest...

I don't understand... For the hip-hop "purest" out there that protested this synthesized, inauthentic, facsimile, form of noise from its inception they can proudly raise a fist when one of hip-hop's mainstream leaders stands up and protests in like.

But lets by real...
Where was the revelry for the "Death of Autotune" when T (Talentless)-Pain make a career, earning millions over the last two years, having an studio engineer electronically "finesse" his vocals through a synthesizer, giving the thinly veiled illusion of talent?

Were people calling up the radio stations whenever he dropped a new song and saturated the airwaves for months on end...?

Or when in the clubs... Did people leave the dance floor or shout out the timeless epithet, "Shoot the DJ!" when the 5th or 6th autotune song got played that night...?

Where was the protest when Kanye West (an unquestionably talented hip-hop artist) decided to go "A-Team" for an entire album...?

I didn't hear much protest then. As a matter of fact, when I questioned/criticized the legitimacy of this "alleged art form," my opinion was deemed as "hate" (Of course it had to be "hate" b/c why else would someone criticize something that had proven to be so profitable?) Club & Party promoters stayed using the titles of the latest "A-Team" track to pack their venues. Mr. West was deemed as an courageous innovator and pioneer in music (almost two years after this stuff had infected the airwaves).

All I'm trying to say is people need to start using some discretion when it comes to music and influence. Stop being lemmings, following the tune of the Piped Piper! It shouldn't take Jay-Z to state something (so obvious) before people start recognizing. Some people have there brains "auto-tuned" to thinking that if the radio is pumping it, "then this MUST BE the new hottest thing"

Bring back the days of "Make It or Break It!" Where the people determined when something was hot or wack. When artists weren't endowed with instant star-status or success b/c they did a collabo with this or that artist. Artist had to earn the respect of the people through their craft, not through image, associations, or ability to imitate the latest fad.

In the words of Talib Kweli, "Reverse psychology got em scared to say when sh*t is whack out of fear of being called a hater, imagine that!" (Blackstar - "Hater Player," circa 1998).
